| Summary: |
Purpose: The aim of our study
was to compare confections of Dexamytrex and Maxitrol in eye drops and ointment in
postoperative treatment after phacoemulsification cataract surgery.
Materials and methods: In our prospective study we examined 120 patient
(120 eyes), 32 patients were excluded. 88 persons were aleatory divided in two equal
groups: group A - use Dexamytrex, group B - use Maxitrol. The patients didn't use
any mydriatics, and stopped treatment after 4 weeks.
Results: During postoperative period patients treated witch Maxirol had
conjuctival injection in 36,6% cases, deep injection in 9,09% and tyndalisation in
anterior chamber in 54,54%. We didn't find any fibrinous exudate, keratit precipitate or
posterior synechiae. Patients treated witch Dexamytrex had conjunctinal injection in
54,54% cases and tyndalisation in anterior chamber in 81,81%. We didn't find any other
manifestation of inflamation. Maxitrol was tolerated very well in 81,82% cases, well in
9,09% and tolerance was reduced in 9,09%. Dexamytrex was tolerated very well in 90,91%
case and well in 9,09.
Conclusion: Dexamytrex and Maxitrol use after phacoemuslification is
harmless and effectiveeven without any mydriatics. These aplication confections did not
elevate intraocular pressure. Cost of the treatment is comparable. |
