| Summary: |
Several disease are mentioned which lead to subretinal
neovascularisation, and focused on pathologic myopia and postinflammatory scar. There is
an explanation of PDT's activity based on photochemical reactions. Qualification to PDT
and its steps are showed. Then outcomes of clinical trials are shortly presented. Finally
the PDT is recommended as a modern way of treatment in cases of subfoveal
neovascularisation. Socially CNV is very important especially as it decreases vision
acuity, leading to legal blindness, and becoming dependent on other persons. |
