| Summary: |
Allergic diseases affect about 25% of population, including
14% of children below 3 years of age. The frequency of these disorders is larger in people
suffering from atopy. These patients have congenital predisposition to excessive
production of IgE antibodies. Allergic disease affects multiple internal and external
organs: digestive system, skin, bronchia, nose, ears and eyes. "Allergic march" is
observed in children, which means different organ manifestations of atopy in certain
children's age. Allergic eye disorders are observed in early childhood. These are:
perennial allergic disease (PAC), seasonal allergic disease (SAC), vernal
keratoconjunctivits (VKC), atopic keratoconjunctivits (AKC), and giant papillary
conjunctivitis (GPC). |
