Alergie na soczewki kontaktowe i płyny pielęgnacyjne a decyzja o laserowym zabiegu refrakcyjnym

Allergy to contact lenses and disinfectant solution and laser refractive surgery decision

Summary: Purpose: The aim of the study was analysis of cases with allergy to contact lenses and solution
in group of patients, who approached for laser correction of refractive errors.
Patients and method: We evaluated 30 patients aged 24 to 47, who approached for laser refractive surgery and had been wearing soft and hard contact lenses for period from 2months to 18 years. All of the patients underwent qualificative examination and confocal microscopy.
Results: In examine group, the 14 patients got through to laser refractive surgery because of sign of allergy and bed tolerance of contact lenses. The clinical sign of allergy like: ingrow of vesels
in corneal structure, defects in epithelim, subepithelial infiltrates, subjective suffering were observed. In 5 cases there were hay fever, in 1 allergodermia. In 3 cases the refractive procedure was adjourned due to lowering pachymetry and changes in videokeratografii. One case wasn't qualified
for surgery becouse of pronoused signs of skin allergy
