Evidence based medicine is
a problem-solving strategy that combines best research
evidence with clinical expertise and patient values. It
is based on large, carefully designed, controlled
clinical trials. This article is the review of the
multicenter, randomized clinical trials in glaucoma. It
summarizes the key baselines and findings from the
Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study (OHTS), the
Collaborative Initial Glaucoma Treatment Study (CIGTS),
Collaborative Normal Tension Glaucoma Study (CNTGS), The
Advanced Glaucoma Intervention Study (AGIS) and Early
Manifest Glaucoma Treatment Study (EMGTS). |
