| Summary: |
The paper presents current
possibilities and treatment options in cases of macular
holes – a treatable cause of visual loss as well as
complications of vitreous surgery. Macular holes can be
surgically closed with visual improvement in most
patients. Vitreoretinal surgery in macular hole is
accepted and effective way of management. ILM peeling is
an important surgical factor for macular hole closure.
High efficacy of the modern surgical techniques allow
obtaining good functional results, and at the same time
patients’ quality of life and psychical comfort. |
