Summary: Purpose: To present operative techniques and results of dislocated lenses treatment.
Material and methods: Our research material covers 93 eyes in 88 individuals aged 19-95 years (mean 57 years). Time of observation ranged from 6 months to 10 years (mean 31 months). Patients were divided into four groups according to the treatment methods used: Group A – ECCE or phacoemulsification with PCIOL implantation. Group B – pars plana vitrectomy combined with phacoemulsification of dislocated lens and PCIOL scleral fixation. Group C – pars plana vitrectomy involving whole lens removal by limbal incision with PCIOL scleral fixation. Group D – cryoextraction of the lens with ACIOL implantation. Patients records were reviewed for pre- and postoperative complications and final visual outcomes.
Results: Final postoperative visual acuity was improved in the majority of cases (89%) in all analyzed groups. The best visual acuity and the lowest complications rate were achieved in groups A, B and C. The worst results were observed in group D.
Conclusions: The modern methods of dislocated lenses treatment are safe with good visual outcomes.

Key words: dislocated lenses, vitrectomy, transcleral fixation.
