| Summary: |
On the basis of the review
articles and own experience the authors describe actual
knowledge about pathogenesis, clinical presentation and
diagnosis with particular allowance of
electrophysiological tests (EOG, ERG, PERG, mfERG) in
Stargardt’s macular dystrophy.
Conclusions: Despite significant progress in
understanding pathogenesis of the Stargardt’s macular
dystrophy, it is still incurable disease progressing to
visual disability. Electrophysiological tests are
particularly useful in early diagnosis, differential
diagnosis as well as in monitoring of natural,
frequently very different course of the disease. |
