| Summary: |
In some cases patients
with diabetic maculopathy displayed the clinical
constellation of a evidence of retinal traction, or a
taut thickened posterior hyaloids, in other cases
patients were reported to have macular traction in the
form of epiretinal membrane and some of them a posterior
vitreous detachment was present. In some cases patients
presented with DMO did not respond to laser treatment.
Several authors have published data suggesting that
vitrectomy improves visual acuity and/or reduces macular
thickness in this group of patients with an attached
hyaloid and no signs suggestive of macular traction. |
