Summary: Blepharitis is a term, which refers to a group of disorders producing inflammation of the lid margin and associated adnexal structures. Blepharitis is one of the most common ocular disease in our clinical practice but the pathophysiology understanding is incomplete. Clinical and laboratory investigations established microorganism and Meibomian gland dysfunction as the most likely determinants. Blepharitis is difficult to classify because of complex mechanisms of the underlying pathogenesis. Unfortunately, there is no successful therapy for this conditions.
