| Summary: |
We analyzed influence of
some hormonal features using questionnaire about female
hormonal abnormalities on AMD prevalence in women. We
compared AMD prevalence, lesions type, progression and
results of the PDT treatment (visual acuity and contrast
sensitivity) according to 9 hormones features. We
examined women, who were treated with PDT in our
Department during 2002-2006. During follow-up visits we
examined visual acuity, lesion type and lesion
progression, and the rest of the information were
established in the questionnaire, where we asked about
hormonal abnormalities, hormone substitutive therapy,
gynaecological surgeries. Primary analysis shows
statistically significant differences in lesions
characteristic and severity of the AMD course according
to hormones. These problems require more advanced
studies. |
