| Summary: |
Etiopathogenesis of AMD is
complex – genetic factors are modified by environmental
influence. So far there are no effective therapy causing
remission of uveo – retinal lesions and recovery to
normal vision. Many different methods are being used but
they all have their limitations. Available treatment
methods include: PDT, intravitreally administered
medicine; but X-Ray therapy is administered particularly
in cases, when patients are disqualified from the most
often used types of therapy. X-Ray therapy seems to be
alternative method of AMD treatment, when we’re using
modern technology and optimal radiation dose, which
prevent from intensive complication. |
