| Summary: |
Aim: To evaluate
degree of glaucomatous damage and treatment influence in
patients with pigmentary glaucoma (PG).
Methods: Medical records of 26 patients (52 eyes)
– 20 males and 6 females, aged 33-76 years (mean 43
years) with pigmentary glaucoma treated in the Glaucoma
Out-patient Clinic in last 3 years were analyzed.
Results: In analysis visual acuity, intraocular
pressure, optic disc appearance and changes of these
parameters due to methods of treatment were taken into
consideration.
Conclusions: Pharmacological treatment of
pigmentary glaucoma very often is not enough successful
and antiglaucoma surgical procedure is necessary, in
some cases repeatedly. Therapeutical problems make
prognosis of this disease hard to predict. |
