| Summary: |
The techniques of the UBM
examination are described in this article. UBM role in
glaucoma, intraocular tumours diagnosis, trauma and
surgery follow-up (especially with IOLs) are also
presented. The article contains the some clinical cases
examination results.
Considering examination technique perpendicular probe
alignment is very important. UBM is helpful in pupillary
block, iris plateau, anterior synechiae, supra ciliary
haemorrhage diagnosis. UBM is necessary in solid or
cystic anterior segment tumours diagnosing process. It
may help in cyclodialysis recognition and anterior
segment foreign body localisation. UBM is also very
important in natural or artificial lens displacement
detection. Almost every surgery of the anterior segment
can be monitored using UBM examination. |
