| Summary: |
Purpose: To compare
corneal morphology images and measurements obtained with
four different anterior segment optical coherence
tomography systems.
Material and Methods: 30 healthy eyes were
recruited for the study. Corneal imaging was performed
by one observer with TD OCT (Visante OCT; Carl Zeiss
Meditec, Inc, Dublin, CA, USA) ) and FD OCT (SOCT
Copernicus, Optopol Technology S.A., Polska; 3D
OCT-1000, Topcon Corporation, Tokyo, Japan; RTVue FD-OCT,
Optovue, Inc. Fremont, CA, USA ). Corneal morphology was
assessed and compared. CCT measurements were assessed
with Visante OCT and RTVue FD-OCT.
Results: FD OCT makes it possible to visualize
all corneal layers, while during TD OCT only two
distinct corneal parts are visible. There is no central
corneal hiperreflective zone in FD OCT scans. Only one
out of four FD OCT devices enables pachymetry map
assessment. CCT measurements by OCT Visante and RTVue
FD-OCT show excellent agreement.
Conclusion: TD OCT still remains a „gold
standard” in anterior segment optical coherence
tomography imaging, but FD-OCT devices show a great
clinical potential. |
