| Summary: |
Angiogenesis is a complex
process depending on many stimulating and inhibiting
factors. In the healthy human organism angiogenesis
inhibiting factors such as: thrombospondin, endostatin,
angiostatin, metalloproteinases inhibitors, platelet
factor 4 and others. When organism is affected by a
disease, direct and indirect factors stimulating
angiogenesis dominate. The most important are as follows:
VEGF, bFGF, metalloproteinases, angopoietin, integrins,
nitric acid. The role of many mediators in angiogenesis
has not been fully determined yet. Hence further
research work is required to determine influence of
these factors. |
