| Summary: |
The pars plana vitrectomy
in uveitis is useful in the complications treatment, for
a diagnostic purpose, and as an adjunct treatment
modality of uveitis. Vitrectomy causes macular oedema
reduction, improves visual acuity, reduces the number of
anti-inflammatory and immunosupresive drugs and
diminishes inflammation recurrence. In the long-term
follow-up vitrectomy does not influence the course of
uveitis itself. |
