| Summary: |
The rapid growth of the
eye must be accounted for, when calculating the dioptric
power of the IOL before cataract surgery in children.
Therefore in the paper, changes in axial length of the
eye, refractive power of the cornea and dioptric power
of IOL for correction of aphakia in children aged 0-14
years were measured. Basing on the obtained data, the
guidelines for the choice of IOL in different age of
children were worked up. Between 1 and 2 years the power
of the IOL should be undercorrected by 20%, at 2 to 4
years by 15% and at 4 to 8 years by 10%. |
