| Summary: |
Keratoconus usually appears in otherwise healthy, young
individuals. In early stage keratoconus often is difficult to detect. Progression of the
condition leads to significant visual lost. In majority of cases it is a bilateral
condition. Patients are worried because of rapid depravation of vision quality and are
afraid to go blind. Constant follow up should be provided to all patients to take care of
possible keratoconus complications. Article reviews keratoconus etiology, diagnosis of the
condition and methods of patient's management. |
