| Summary: |
Authors describe the
indications for application contact lenses in infants
and children. The management includes use of rigid gas
permeable or soft contact lenses. Contact lenses are
wearing in pediatric praxis for correction visual acuity
post cataract operation. It is typical continuing of the
treatment for bilateral pediatric cataracts and
unilateral cataracts in infants. Contact lens use
remains an important treatment modality for aphakic
rehabilitation, especially in children younger than 2
years of age. Contact lenses are using in cases for the
treatment of the another refraction errors (high myopia,
high hyperopia, astigmatismus) and for children with
anisometropic amblyopia. Contact lenses seem to be well
tolerated by most young patients. |
