| Summary: |
Hypermetropia is one of
the basic refractive errors. Lack of a proper optical
correction may lead to various disorders in visual
system functioning. Precise case diagnosis and
appropriate management is necessary to eliminate or
minimize patient's ailments. Both, in the screening
examinations and in individual examinations, not only
refractive error measurement its necessary, but most of
all determination of the influence on decrease in visual
activity efficiency. Accomodative compensation of
hypermetropia, sufficient to obtain sharp retinal
pictures during distance objects observation, may also
be associated with exceeding reserve of the visual
system in the range of accomodation and convergence.
Management in hypermetropia is highly individualized
according to age, refractive error magnitude, visual
requirements, and visual system functional disorders.
Properly conducted optometric examination, in which both
structural and functional properties of the visual
system are evaluated, should give sufficient information
for optimalization of the hypermetropia correction and
recommendations of the possible visual exercises. |
