| Summary: |
Myopia is a refractive
error of the eye. At present there are no general rules
or intervention which decrease myopia progression in
children. Myopic anisometropia induces anisoiconia
leading to deep amblyopia. The management includes use
of spectacles, rigid or soft contact lenses,
orthokeratology and surgical treatment. Posterior phakic
chamber lens implantation and laser refractive surgery
is effective for correcting anisometropic myopia in
amblyopic children. In all surgical methods long term
follow-up observations are necessary. |
