| Summary: |
Orthokeratology is a
procedure that uses gas permeable (GP) contact lenses to
reshape the cornea in order to temporarily reduce,
modify, or eliminate myopia and astigmatism to achieve a
transient improvement in unaided visual acuity. The
mechanism of orthokeratology is not quite clear.
Certainly, the effects of contact lenses on the corneal
epithelium have been well documented. In this paper
review of the methods of corneal shape changing after
Ortho-K lenses wear is presented. |
