| Summary: |
In the paper we presented
possibilities of correcting presbyopic patients with
progressive lenses designed for near and intermediate
distances. Construction, types, utilitarian properties
and lenses selection were discussed, illustrating
patient’s way of vision with vision simulation.
Lenses for near and intermediate distances developed
during last few years as supplementation of the classic
i.e. designed for every distance progressive lenses. In
such lenses at the expense of reducing areas designed
for distance were extended for near and intermediate
distance enabling comfort work mainly for the category
of the office workers. Within that group of lenses one
may distinguish few subgroups according to the desired
distance of the best vision. During application process,
except precise ophthalmologic examination, extremely
important also patient’s history and recognizing
expectations concerning glasses for work use. |
