| Summary: |
The paper discusses eye
disorders which affect an increasing number of workers
who operate computers in air-conditioned not properly
aired offices which are typical for most companies.
Several factors shape these disorders among else the
environment, stress and eye dysfunctions.
It is currently recognized that approximately 81% of
people working longer than 2 hours in front of the
computer screen report discomfort. This can be
attributed to less frequent blinking (below 12 times a
minute). Moreover the eyes are open wider, which results
in a faster evaporation of the tear film and dry cornea.
What is the most recommended in such cases is prevention
done by risk factors elimination and use of individually
selected, preservative-free eyedrops. These tears
substitutes moisturize cornea and conjunctiva and wash
out dirt residue in the eye. |
