Wavefront technology and
correcting higher order aberrations are hot topics and
wavefront technology is being applied to everything in
vision care from diagnostics to corrective lenses to
refractive surgery. In order to appreciate the value of
the application of this technology, we need to
understand the basics of higher order aberration (HOA)
and the effect on the quality of vision. Higher order
aberrations may play a critical role in the advancement
of contact lenses and the improvement of vision quality
and we believe design matters in helping practitioners
and patients achieve greater success with contact
lenses. This science is very complex, so this article is
only intended as a brief overview to stimulate your
interest. |
