In the paper wave
aberration of the eye and its measurement are described.
Explanation of wave aberration, ray aberration and their
relation to image quality are presented. Wave aberration
of the eye is described in details in terms of Zernike
polynomials. Physical principles and the most important
methods of aberration measurement are described. Typical
aberrometers and their physical parameters are
introduced. At the closure, the most important questions
and problems connected with aberration measurement are
collected. This review has to inform actual and
potential users of ophthalmic aberrometers about
physical principles of its operation. |
