| Summary: |
To investigate the effect
of 30-days continuous-wear of the lotrafilcon A contact
lenses on corneal physiology with special focus on the
tear film evaluation, corneal topography and corneal
thickness changes.
Methods: Seventy patients (140 eyes) wearing
continuously lotrafilcon A lenses (Air Optix NIGHT & DAY)
for monthly replacement were observed for two years.
Complete ophthalmologic examinations and corneal
topography were performed before fitting (visit 0) and
at each follow-up visit, namely in month 12 (visit 12)
and month 24 (visit 24).
Purpose of the clinical study: anamnesis, refraction,
slit lamp examination, keratometry, pachymetry (corneal
thickness), endothelium evaluation, tear film evaluation
using TEARSCOPE, photographic documentation using
IMAGINET 2000. Corneal topography was performed with
Orbscan II device and consisted of: axial keratometry
map pattern, SimK, irregularity in 3.0 and 5.0
millimeters area, pachymetry in the thinnest point were
evaluated and compared during 0, 12 and 24 (month) visit.
Results were statistically analyzed. 24 (month) visit.
Results and conclusions: Very good assessment of
fluoro-silicone hydrogel contact lens for extended wear
in the clinical study was observed.
Results and conclusions: Very good assessment of
fluoro-silicone hydrogel contact lens for extended wear
in clinical study. |
